For about ten months, everything lived in storage while I set up in a suburban basement—concrete floors, exposed insulation, extension cords running everywhere. I started small: just a computer. Then an interface, a mic, a preamp. No aesthetic, no vibe, nothing Instagram-friendly—just the act of getting to work. You can probably hear the furnace running in the background on some of these songs, but I stopped caring about that. The point was to prove (mostly to myself) that the environment doesn’t matter as much as we think it does. Activity is just that—the act itself. Something ordinary, something natural.
