Hossawa Dub / Absence of Light maps a quiet terrain of pressure and presence across two slow-burning pieces. Hossawa Dub begins at the edge of Japan’s Hossawa Falls—an unbroken field recording forms the ground, gradually layered with dub bass, percussive throb, and filtered textures that rise and recede with patient tension. Absence of Light opens in darkness, a dense drone thick with shadow and weight. A looping piano motif slowly emerges, cutting through the haze with fragile clarity—evoking a delicate balance between collapse and calm. Together, the tracks unfold as meditations on contrast—gesture and stillness, heaviness and grace—inviting immersion without resolution.
